First Indian to climb Mount Everest

The first Indian born Indian to climb mount Everest was AS Cheema. He was a part of India's first succesful expedition to everest and climbed to the summit with Nawang Gombu(an Indian origin - relative of Hillary). AS Cheema was followed by other members of the expedition on the following days.
